Using Fashion Jewelry & Accessories to Pull Together an Outfit

Fashion Jewelry is called just that because it is meant to be worn with all and any fashion.  This type of jewelry is meant to be mixed and matched with any outfit and it's purpose is to enhance that outfit.

Jewelry can make or break an outfit; even if you have the cutest or trendy outfit that fits you just oh so right, it can be ruined by the lack of, too much of or bad fashion jewelry.  Learn what makes an outfit a full complete outfit from top to bottom so that you always look pulled together.  Always take a look in the mirror before you leave the house.  If there is any doubt about how you look, remove one piece of jewelry.  Less is more in most cases.

You all know her; that beautiful woman who looks pulled together no matter what.  It is not necessarily her body shape or how old she is.  There is something about her that whether she is wearing a jogging suit or a business suit, she always looks good!  How does she do it?  You may ask yourself that as you look through your closet in dismay.  Even when you find the outfit you want to wear, something doesn't seem quite right and you ask yourself why can't you pull it all together.  The answer lies in the coordination of your outfit.  The top and bottom do matter, but it is the attention to the details such as shoes, hair and fashion jewelry accessories that will make or break an outfit.  And don't forget the fabulous handbag!

If you want to always look pulled together. it really is quite easy and doing so can be lots of fun.  The first step you need to do is take a good look at your closet.  If you like to mix and match, set your clothes up so that you have your choice of tops right beside one another.  All clothes should be set up this way; it will save you tons of time that you used to stand in front of your closet not knowing what to wear.

Try everything!  If something does not fit the way you wish and you can't bear to throw it away, put it in a safe storage container and get it out of your closet.  Every piece of clothing you have should match up to another piece.  If you have a favorite pair of black slacks, have them hanging next to a matching tank or a sweater for the colder days.  Arrange your clothes so that when you stand in front of them, there is no guess work.

Take pictures!  Create a look book to reference back to on days when you have "Nothing to Wear."  You'll be pleasantly surprised at how pleased you look and feel knowing that half the battle was getting the book out of your desk!

Next up, Shoes.  Take a look at your outfits and decide how many different pairs of shoes you will need to make each outfit perfect.  Strappy, Flat, Wedges or Stiletto are just a few of your many options.  However, black or tan are usually the answer to every outfit shoe dilemma.  Black shoes are usually already found in ones closet, however a great pair of nude shoes are hard to find.  Never buy shoes just because they happen to be the color you are looking for.  Take your time!  Shoes are little investments and shouldn't be taken lightly.  If you can't afford the pair you want, save up and you will be happy that you did.  Your shoe choices affect your feet and later in life-can you really tell me that you want ugly feet? I think not.  Below are a few of some of my favorite nude shoe suggestions:

Nude high court shoes

Christian Louboutin Relika Platform shoe
($815)

Also online shopping has opened up a whole new world for shoe shopping, so make sure that before purchasing shoes online, you check out your local retail or department store to see how a certain brand fits,  Return policies are often difficult and and it is alot easier to know exactly how a shoe will fit prior to buying it online.  Hint:  Tory Burch typically runs a 1/2 size too big whereas Via Spiga runs 1/2 size too small.

Have the proper belts to match the shoes and have them in the proper widths:  Skinnier belts for business, wider belts for jeans and casual.

Whats next?  Fashion Jewelry of course!  Fashion jewelry will pull your outfit together and add the finishing touch that make you look great; everything will be flowing and you will be one of those women that have it all together!  OK so before our look is finished...easier said than done, lets take a good look at our outfits and write down what colors are most apparent.  Chances are you are going to want fashion jewelry  in some basic colors to match what you have for outfits:  The secret is to see the main color of your outfit and also the secondary color.  If you have a black skirt with pink flowers and a light pink top, you will want to pick up on both colors.  Wear all pink fashion jewelry and you will be making a fashion faux pas.  Alternatively, if you have an outfit that is almost entirely black but has a splash of red, the belt and shoes for example, wear red fashion jewelry to pull it all together.

This season turquoise is taking front and center yet again on the runways and in our favorite high end retail stores. Turquoise has the ability to add "whimsy" to a casual outfit and when paired with other gemstones, it adds a hint of earthy elegance to formal wear.  Not to mention a fabulous pop of color!  If you pull it off right, turquoise jewelry is always chic and will always get attention.  (See some of my favorite suggestions below)

When the eye sees a color on the feet, middle and neck/ears, you will have the look that we strive for: Balanced!
